Apple Folk Historic Dolls

Apple Folk Historic Dolls
Each doll is created from an individually hand carved apple that is then dried and sealed. No two are alike and variations in facial expression and color are normal. The animated expression is the result of painstaking carving by artist Patricia Powell of Arizona and her daughters that is true to the origins of this pioneer craft. The eyes are actually black-eyed peas. Dressed in real fur, and the deluxe version is strapped to a cradleboard, each is a ready to hang as a display. These little treasures have been documented to exist back in the 1800’s when used as a child’s plaything.
